Privacy Policy
For Conscription Chess. Last updated 3 September 2026.
Conscription Chess collects the least it can while still letting you play someone else. There are no adverts, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.
The short version
Playing on your own — pass-and-play, or against the computer — sends nothing anywhere. The game runs entirely on your device.
Playing online needs a way to tell one player from another, so the app creates a random identifier for your installation and stores the games you play. It never asks for your name, your email, or anything else about you.
What is collected
A device identifier. The first time you play online, the app generates a random identifier and keeps it on your device. It is not your advertising ID, your phone's serial number, or anything issued by Google or your handset — it is a random value the app makes up, and it identifies an installation rather than a person. It is what lets you return to a game in progress after closing the app.
The games you play online. For each online game: which mode was chosen, the army each player conscripted, every move made, who won and how, and the times involved. This is what makes it possible to resume a game, show it correctly to both players, and settle a result.
What is not collected
No name, email address, phone number or date of birth. No location. No contacts, photos, files or camera access. No advertising identifier. No device fingerprinting. No record of anything you do outside the app.
The app contains no analytics, no advertising network, and no crash-reporting service. Nothing it sends goes anywhere except the server described below.
Who can see it
Nobody but Belle Prairie Games, and only to run the game. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies.
Your opponent sees what the game requires: the moves you make, and — only once both players have conscripted and the game begins — the army you drafted. Before that reveal the server does not send your army to your opponent at all. That is a rule of the game, and it is enforced on the server rather than trusted to the app.
Where it is kept
On a server rented by Belle Prairie Games from OVHcloud, located in London, United Kingdom. Connections between the app and that server are encrypted.
How long it is kept
Game records are kept while they may still be useful to you — to resume an unfinished game, or to look back at a finished one. Data tied to an installation is removed when you ask for it to be, as below.
Deleting your data
Email privacy@belleprairiegames.com and ask. There is no account to log in to and no name attached to your data, so please send the request from the device in question or include enough detail to identify the installation — otherwise there is no way to tell which records are yours, which is a consequence of collecting so little.
Uninstalling the app removes the identifier from your device. It does not by itself remove games already stored on the server; ask, and they will be removed.
Children
The game has no chat, no messaging, no user-generated text and no way for players to contact each other. Players are shown to one another only as anonymous opponents.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes rather than made quietly.
